1910: The Uncovering

Soon after its World Premiere at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival on November 12, Revelstoke will get to see the new, stunning documentary 1910 - The Uncovering. Principal photography for the 27-minute Film took place in July and December of 2024, showcasing key local locations: Revelstoke Railway Museum, Parks Canada, Rogers Pass, and Revelstoke Museum & Archives. In addition to surprising Vancouver connections, the film includes insightful interviews with local experts Tomo Fujimura, Cathy English, John Woods, Sylvain Hebert, Doug Meyer, Ed Palasz, Karen Matthews, and a cameo appearance by Taiki Fujimura. It also includes the skilled camera work of Revelstoke residents Tom Poole and Francois Desrosiers.

Using new information and graphic techniques, this Film describes the tragic avalanche that occurred at the Rogers Pass summit in March of 1910. It remains Canada's deadliest, with 58 railway workers losing their lives. This documentary project also delves…
